Where we find it in the bible

Scriptural Foundations

Other Scripture we believe the Lord has spoken in connection with this project:

Psalm 27:4 One thing have I desired of the Lord; this one thing I seek, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze at the beauty of the Lord and inquire in His temple.

Psalm 27:13-14 Of this I am still confident, that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He will strengthen your heart. Wait, I say, on the Lord.

Note: Ezra, Haggai, and Zechariah have accounts of the of process of being called and returning from Babylon to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. Zerubbabel was the governor chosen by God, along with Joshua the high priest, to oversee the rebuilding of the Temple. Today, we are witnessing the Lord building a corporate Zerubbabel and a corporate Joshua as governors and priests in the Body of Christ whose hearts are being moved by God to rebuild His House of Prayer In Spokane and worldwide.

Ezra 1:5b …everyone whose heart God had moved prepared to go up and build the house of the Lord…

Haggai 2:3b-5 …How does it look to you now? Does it not seem like nothing? But now be strong, O Zerubbabel,’ declares the Lord. ‘Be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozedak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,’ declares the Lord, ‘and work. For I am with you,’ declares the Lord Almighty. This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.’

Haggai 2:6-9 “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land.I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the LordAlmighty.‘The silver is mine and the gold is mine,’ declares the Lord Almighty.‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty.”

Haggai 2:23 “‘On that day,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘I will take you, my servant Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will make you like my signet ring, for I have chosen you,’ declares the Lord Almighty.”

Zechariah 4:6-10 So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty. “What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it!’” Then the word of the Lord came to me:“The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands will also complete it. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you. “Who despises the day of small things? Men will rejoice when they see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel.”

Isaiah 60:22b I am the Lord; in its time I will do this swiftly.

Note: II Chronicles 7: 14 is the response of God to Solomon and the Israelites at the dedication of the House of God in Jerusalem.

II Chronicles 7:12 the LORD appeared to him at night and said: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.

II Chronicles 7:14-16 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.
